Located on the eastern edge of the ruggedly beautiful Gulf Savannah region of northern Australia, the multi-award winning Undara Experience captures the essence of the real Australian Outback.

Undara Experience is located in pristine tropical savannah woodlands, within easy reach of the Great Barrier Reef areas of Cairns and Townsville in Tropical North Queensland.

From Undara Experience, you can visit the Undara Lava Tubes, part of the longest lava flow from a single volcanic crater on Earth. In the Microbat breeding season you can witness the unique spectacle of the Microbats and the Night Tigers.

• Buffet Lunch at Fettler’s Iron Pot Bistro 12pm
• Free time to enjoy resort facilities including marked walking tracks, swimming pool, bird watching, a snooze in the shade
• Wildlife at Sunset Tour at approx 5.15pm
• 3 course dinner in Fettler’s Iron Pot Bistro 7.30pm
• Evening Activities - meet at the Saloon Car Bar at 8:00pm
• Overnight restored turn-of-the-century carriage accommodation
• Bush Breakfast at Ringer’s Camp 7am
• Half day tour of Undara Lava Tubes with Savannah Guide (depart from Reception) 8.30am
• Buffet Lunch in Fettler’s Iron Pot Bistro 12.30pm
• Depart for Cairns by coach 1.40pm
• Arrive Cairns 6.15pm

Day One:

Departing Cairns, travel by coach through the beautiful Cairns Highlands, then into Tropical North Queensland’s Outback region, known as the Gulf Savannah. On arrival at Undara Experience, have lunch and relax by the pool or enjoy a bush walk before joining your Savannah Guide for a magnificent Wildlife at Sunset tour, followed by an evening campfire activity. Overnight in our restored railway carriage accommodation. Lunch and dinner included.

Day Two:

Awaken your tastebuds with Bush Breakfast at the Ringers Camp to the accompaniment of the morning bird chorus. Join your Savannah Guide for a Half Day Lava Tube tour, where they will share their extensive knowledge of this fascinating area. After lunch depart Undara Experience for your return journey to Cairns. Breakfast and lunch included.

Return Coach from Cairns:

Relax with informative commentary as you journey to and from Undara by luxury coach.
Tour Includes: 1 night’s carriage accommodation, all National Park fees, Half Day Lava Tube tour, Wildlife at Sunset tour, evening campfire activity, meals as indicated (2 Lunch, 1 Dinner, 1 Breakfast), return coach tour and courtesy hotel transfers.

Your stay at Undara Experience includes evening wildlife spotlighting walks, campfire evenings, delicious dining featuring the region’s best produce, or a quiet drink in the bar as the outback sunset fades into the clearest starlit night.

Highly qualified Savannah Guides take you on tours that give a unique insight into the geology and ecology of the Undara Volcanic National Park, the local history and bushcraft of the Gulf Savannah region.

Undara Experience is also the perfect place for a meeting, incentive, conference or school groups with the Lodge equipped with all the facilities of a much larger venue. Our purposley built conference facility “Leichardts Room” comfortably supports the requirements for groups of up to 50 people. Our open air amphitheatre “Ooramin Places” will easily seat 300 guests.
