Ruffles Lodge
Location: Queensland | Brisbane, Gold Coast

The Lodge The first choice of architect was Chris Beckingham, well known for his beautiful homes and retreats in the tourist area of the Whitsundays. The first challenge was to persuade him to accept a commission well south of his stamping ground. Feeling sure that if he would agree to visit the site he would accept the challenge of such a beautiful place, in-fact the completed lodge follows closely his original concept from that first visit to the site. The main building is an extension of the Queenslander style with large veranda, stone walls, high ceilings and beautiful timbers. The use of aged timbers re-milled from 100-year-old wharves along the Brisbane river, add to the charm. The dining and lounge area is an ideal place for meeting before dinner. The large covered terrace also provides another place for dining during the warmer months and the poolside gazebo with its wood-fired oven is yet another great place for dinner or breakfast with views east across rambling hills to the ocean. The "garden gazebo", situated on a raised knoll with views in all directions and the sun all day, is an ideal place to relax with a book, enjoy a coffee or a complimentary drink from the fridge. Located in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland, the Luxury 5 star Ruffles Lodge is sure to please with its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful secenery. Reserve your accommodation with Ruffles Lodge today. The Gardens Ruffles Lodge has been built on 50 acres with 3 acres of garden and parklands, bush and forest of the Gold Coast HInterland as your neighbors. The tranquility and peace a beautiful garden instills is enhanced by the birds and animals that native plants and shrubs encourage, also by the inclusion of several water features. For the golfing enthusiast there is a "par 3" golf hole with bunker, putting and chipping areas. Special attention has been paid to walks, whether it is the 1km track that surrounds the lodge or the extensive network of trails that extend for miles into the bush and forest surrounding the property. It makes for a very special private place from the moment you enter the security gate and drive the 1km to the lodge. The Garden Villas Garden Villas are separate to the main lodge with Villa 1 and 2 each separated by a porch and Villa 3 stands alone. All have 180 degree views across the rural land of the Gold Coast Hinterland, to the Broadwater and ocean beyond. The Coomera River meanders from behind hills to the south into the foreground where it joins the Broadwater. The high-rise buildings of Surfers Paradise can clearly be seen to the south and at dusk the skyline becomes a panorama of lights. The interior design of the lodges is one of style and warmth with beautiful aged timbers used throughout. Each has its own covered deck and the bathrooms are large and well appointed. Beds are king size, (single beds also provided) and every effort has been taken with the selection of quality linen and toiletries. Whether you are staying on business or pleasure, they have added a few small conveniences such as, high-speed Internet connections, video, satellite and free-to-air TV and each Villa has its own private phone number. It is our opinion that even whilst on holiday, it is good to have the option to send or receive e-mails or watch your favourite news programme. The facility is there, use it or ignore it, the choice is yours. Chums's Spa Villas "Chums" is the only two storey accommodation at Ruffles and was originally designed as an area for the owners friends, hence the name, but has now been upgraded to guest accommodation and is affectionately known as "Chums' Up" and "Down". Chums Up has a large deck area with a day bed and has filtered views to the coast and valley to the north. The outlook over the large gardens is pleasant and gives a feeling of peace. To maximize the outlook from Chums Down they have included sliding glass doors and patios on both sides. The north looks out over the gardens and the south has views through the eucalypt forest. They are both 63sq metres and have sunny northerly aspects. Up has a Queen size bed and Down a King and both have double divan beds (with inner spring mattresses) and spacious bathrooms with double Spas. The living areas are equipped with log gas fires for winter comfort and 42" Plasma TVs and sound systems. They are both equipped with high speed internet connections. The Executive Lodge Suite The perfect retreat for honeymooners, executives or the more discerning travellers. The new luxury Executive Suite situated at the northern end of the Lodge with spectacular views from the living room to the coast and a northerly aspect across the valley from the spacious bedroom. This would surely rate high amongst the best accommodation available on the Gold Coast or Brisbane. The overall size of the suite, excluding the surrounding deck is 86 sq.metres. The suite also has it's own private garden. The bedroom has a King size bed, walk-in dressing room with ample areas for suitcases; TV, large deck with comfortable outdoor furniture and the beautifully appointed bathroom has a spa bath. High timber ceilings, glass sliding doors, timber louvres, aged timber flooring, overhead fans, carefully selected furniture and fittings combine to create a special atmosphere. Like the bedroom, the living room is air conditioned and for your winter comfort, there is a wood fire. There is a plazma screen TV, DVD and sound system, and as in the villas there is a high speed internet connection. Private dining is available for both breakfast and dinner if required. The large living area can be set up for meetings during the day and reverted back to private use at night. The suite is equipped with a private telephone number for the duration of the stay, high speed data connection and video transfer from a notebook computer to the plasma screen. Ideal for that private corporate gathering. The Treehouse Pool Villas These three new Villas are situated 200 metres from the main Lodge and are built into the side of the hill, “pole house” style. There are breathtaking views from the plunge pool and two decks. Attached to each Villa is undercover parking and a place for the golf buggy, which can be used to move between the Villa and the Lodge. The bedroom is on a mezzanine level, two steps below is the living area leading to the deck and pool areas. The bathroom with its free-standing Spa bath also has spectacular views. For winter comfort and atmosphere each Villa has a Log fire and it goes without saying they are air-conditioned. They have a total area of 61 sq metres not including the decks or pool. * Please contact AusHoliday 5 Star for further information, rates and advise on your personalised itinerary. |
