Qualia’s harmonious design is the work of Australian architect Chris Beckingham. His philosophy was to create a luxurious Australian retreat that stimulates the senses and draws the outside in.

The resulting design combines a unique sense of space, openness and harmony. Set amongst native Eucalypts, each pavilion has been handcrafted from the finest imported and local timber and stone. To complement the natural surrounds, Dennis Nona’s artworks adorn the walls and Freedman Rembel has furnished the interiors with fabrics and patterns inspired by nature.

Water Front Accommodation

From one-bedroom freestanding pavilions to the privacy of a secluded retreat, qualia offers three types of accommodation to suit your individual taste.

The 60 spacious one-bedroom freestanding pavilions (Leeward and Windward) provide an indulgent space to relax in and unwind, with either a sundeck or private infinity edge plunge pool. Or, there’s the uncompromising luxury and privacy of the Beach House with its own guest pavilion, private full-size pool and breathtaking views. What’s more, accommodation includes all on-island transfers, meals in both restaurants within qualia, non-alcoholic beverages, plus access to your own two-seater electric golf buggy allowing the rest of the Island to be explored at a leisurely pace.

Inside qualia, you can feel time unravel however you choose. Facilities include two serene pools, a library, private dining room, two bars and restaurants, and a fitness centre. And for that truly memorable experience step inside Spa qualia, which offers an extensive range of luxurious local and international treatments.

For those with a more adventurous spirit, the Great Barrier Reef is the perfect place to make some unexpected discoveries. Head off on a diving or snorkeling adventure, or marvel at the wondrous diversity of underwater life on a reef tour. There are also all manner of water sports to pursue.

Leeward Pavilion

The south west-facing Leeward Pavilions give you a serene outlook of both the Island and the Coral Sea. They boast a private sundeck, which is the perfect place to capture the warmth of the sun during the day and amazing sunsets at dusk.

Windward Pavilion

The north-facing Windward Pavilions give expansive, postcard views of the Coral Sea and Whitsundays. The beautifully appointed pavilions feature a living room, separate bedroom with a king bed or split twins, ensuite and offer the added indulgence of a private plunge pool. *Price is for twin share accommodation, valid until 31 March 2010 and excludes festive periods (Credit card fees apply). Minimum two nights stay. qualia does not cater for persons under the age of 18 years.

Beach House at qualia

For something truly special, experience the Beach House for the ultimate secluded hideaway. With a main bedroom and ensuite, spacious entertaining area featuring a large flat-screen TV with surround sound, a 10-person dining room, a private full-sized swimming pool, as well as a separate guesthouse, the Beach House is an indulgence like no other.
